End of a Great Year

A place to share the images from sessions and events has been in the works for a bit now. I have had ideas and thoughts floating for it but have not made it a point to sit and just do it. So, as I sat and thought about the exit of 2013 and the welcoming in of a new year, I thought what better way to start than reflecting on all that the vision of Poemia Photography has meant to me.

Many have asked me what Poemia means, so that is where I will begin. Poemia actually comes from a Greek word meaning workmanship or handiwork. It is also where we get the words  poem and poetry.

In my opinion, life is like poetry and good poetry will be full of emotion.

Emotion from the difficult and trying things as well as from the joyful and exhilarating moments.

When taking pictures, my favorite things to capture are moments.

These moments frozen in order to remember. Remember how you felt and what you shared with someone else in this poetic life.

So, here are simply a FEW of those moments I have had the honor and privilege of capturing and freezing in time to remember and treasure.

“Photography is an art of observation.

It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

Elliot Erwitt

May your new year be full of the moments that make up your poetic masterpiece. :)
