I got an exciting phone call from a dear friend a few weeks ago. She said she had submitted her poetry once again hoping, yet not expecting, that hers would be chosen for a Chapbook.
I am so excited for her! Thankful that her talent has been recognized and that the poetry she has been inspired to write will be printed for others to enjoy.
She then asked me if I would be interested in taking her head shots for her Chapbook….Would I be interested???? Good golly, yes!!!!!!
I was honored to be able to do this for her. Not only for the purposes of having an image she can use for her Chapbook but more so for the time I got to spend with her.
She is talented, passionate and kind.
I count it a privilege to know her and to be called her friend.
A woman’s heart has been described so many ways.
Each of us has walked so many different roads that shape and mold parts of our hearts in ways others may never understand.
This, in my opinion, adds so much beauty and depth that is unique and complex to each one of us.
My friend has traveled her road to this point in her life and it has added a depth and uniqueness to who I see today.
In the spirit of Valentines day this post is timed just right.
I can thank the snow and ice this week for the extra time to sit and catch up with edits and posts.
As far as engagement sessions go this has to be one of my favorites. Spending time with these two special people was rewarding.
I have looked through the many series of pictures from this shoot and I can’t pick my favorite. So, you get to see many, many pictures.
The water was cold but they were gracious participants :)
The location and timing all perfect.
This series could really hold a post of it’s own. I love them!
The engagement period in a couples life holds so much excitement, anticipation and wonder.
Waiting on the day you get to say I Do to the one you have chosen to commit to can be such a sweet time.
I am looking forward to sharing your wedding day with you guys and am so excited to have the honor of freezing this day for you in frames.

This little duo has been called the real life Henrietta & Mudge.
I absolutely love these pictures!!
You hear about the protective role that pets, particularly dogs, will take and I had the opportunity to photograph such a relationship.
I love that these pictures show a glimpse of how much he loves her.
Never underestimate what a spray bottle can accomplish!! This young one had fun playing during our session, but was hesitant to give me a good shot of her pretty little face.
So, we improvised and used a spray bottle with water.
She really likes her water bottle
I enjoyed catching this spunky, fun, energetic and sassy little girl in her element!
Another fun and precious session!
Took my camera out for fun…just because. No plan….actually my baby’s hair wasn’t even brushed. ;)
I’ve read that many photographers lose their joy because they don’t just shoot for fun anymore.
(All work and no play, perhaps)
I guess that can happen with anything really. You forget why you were drawn to something to begin with.
You get so far from where you started and all that made it something you love and enjoy.
So this year, and after, I want to remember why I love photography.
These, although imperfect, are a few candid shots I took the other day.
Everything about this little one’s self sparkles!
Carefree and fun! Taking in the breeze and the sunshine while enjoying life so simply….
I had fun with my camera and my (not so baby anymore) baby!
If you held on this long…Thanks for reading and looking.
